Veterans Day Parade Committee
Overview
The Douglas County Veterans Day Parade is normally held each year in Roseburg, on Veterans Day. It is the BEST Veterans Day parade in Oregon and has been the largest on several occasions. The parade committee begins meeting in March or April of each year to get a good start on the enormous task of putting this parade on the road to honor our veterans. Meetings are held once a month and are more frequent as the parade draws near.
Meetings

Roseburg, OR 97470 - Volunteers are welcome! Putting on a parade is a huge undertaking… if you would like to help put our great parade on the road, please contact the committee or come to a parade meeting.
The purpose of the annual Douglas County Veterans Day Parade is to thank and honor all those who put on the uniform and served honorably in the military - in wartime or peacetime. 1955 was the first official Veterans Day parade, in Douglas County, and they have occurred each year since. At one point in history, San Francisco and Roseburg were the only officially designated parade locations, on the West Coast, recognized by the President’s National Veterans Day Observance Committee. The long-standing custom of selecting a ceremonial Grand Marshal and a theme for each parade also continues. In 2023, we will celebrate our 68th annual Douglas County Veterans Day Parade.
